The first is that it suits my intellectual temperament and the second is that it throws a glaring light on the limitations of Jung's explanations of Nazism as the fateful rising of an archetype. This psychology, of course has its own limitations, which will not be addressed here.

But what do all the beauties of the past from totally different levels of culture mean to the man of today, when confronted with a living and unfathomable tribal god such as he has never experienced before? No doubt it sounds better to academic ears to interpret these things as Dionysus, but Wotan might be a more correct interpretation.
